HP 200LX PALMTOP PC 4MB

Palo Alto, California. Feb. 3 , 1997

Description

The HP 200LX palmtop PC 4MB is a coat-pocket-sized (11oz.) MS-DOS palmtop computer with a full 80-column CGA display. It also has a plug-in card slot for expansion, both wired and infrared serial interfaces; 4MB RAM; and built-in software, including phone list, scheduling, Pocket Quicken, Lotus 123, HP calculator, cc:Mail and data communications.

Market Position

The HP 200LX palmtop PC enables mobile professionals to carry their appointment schedules, phone numbers, finances, "to do" lists and PC information anywhere. In addition, the HP 200LX palmtop PC has an industry-first, legible 80-column screen that displays PC information at full width. The 4MB model has additional memory to run memory-intensive DOS applications.

DOS is an open-standards operating system, and the HP 200LX palmtop PC is a powerful, miniaturized PC; therefore, existing DOS PC software will run on the HP 200LX palmtop PC. Because the screen is 80 columns wide, users can read documents, spreadsheets and e-mail just as they would view them on a desktop PC.

The HP 200LX palmtop PC is the only palmtop PC on the market that will synchronize all PC information via a cable and PC software from Puma Technologies. IntelliSync for the HP 200LX, a third party software, allows seamless connectivity to DOS, Microsoft Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 PC desktops.

Features

Features include a proven HP 200LX palmtop PC hardware design with 4MB RAM; familiar DOS environment; built-in cc:Mail for wired and wireless communications; standard page, 80-column-wide display; Pocket Quicken, allowing up-to-date tracking of expenses; financial calculator for catering simple needs to more complex equations; and auto synchronization with DOS/Windows 3.1, Windows 95 PCs (with IntelliSync).

Target Market
